I don’t know what made me walk into the gym in July of 2008 and ask about personal training. But, what I do know is that I had just turned 35 and was overweight, out of shape, tired and generally sad.
Since our first meeting, Charles has been an unwavering source of tough workouts and unending support. He believed in me when I couldn’t or didn’t believe in myself. With his help, I have lost almost 90 pounds and have gone from being barely able to walk a mile to running in a 5K.
Today, I am lighter, healthier and altogether happier for my time spent with Charles.
I can’t say enough about how much his expertise, dedication, and consideration have meant to me. I am a different person physically and mentally than I was in my ‘Before’ pictures and I have Charles to thank for that.

Training with Charles isn’t easy but it is definitely rewarding. Our sessions are intense and always challenging. If I can’t do something Charles always finds another way for me to do it without being critical. When I don’t like an exercise, Charles will come up with another exercise that I dislike even more so I won’t complain. He knows how to push me in a good way and as a result I’ve lost those stubborn eight pounds I gained in the past year (6% body fat).
I can jump rope, run faster and longer, and have improved my strength and balance. My legs are smaller and I can see definition in my arms, back, and stomach. Most importantly, Charles makes me feel that there are no limits to what I can do as long as I put the work in. I don’t think there’s anything else you can ask of a trainer than what Charles has done for me.

Being physically active and in shape has always been a part of my life. I have been a runner for over 25 years and have always enjoyed outdoor activities like swimming, hiking, and camping.
I began working with a trainer about 4 years ago. That trainer was only interested in the muscle building part of exercise. We concentrated on weight lifting only. The difference between that trainer and today is, with Charles, we concentrate on an overall health plan. Incorporating all aspects of training makes for a much more balanced experience. I feel better, look better, and feel much more engaged during our sessions.
Charles takes pride in his clients and excels at making each session different. I am what you would call a special case when it comes to personal training. I broke an ankle and have several pins currently holding it together, so I needed a trainer that could develop a program for me that was light on impact exercises, like running, but would still mix in a good cardio regiment. I have used other trainers in the past that would accommodate this by doing the same routine of exercises to the point of boredom.
The thing I like most about Charles is that he has a great understanding of the human body and constantly changes up our workout routines to keep them interesting. And the results? After working out with him twice a week for three months, I am down eight pounds and I have a leaner physique…even my wife has noticed!
I highly recommend Charles to anyone who is looking for an engaging and motivating personal trainer – he’ll get you the results you’re after!
